Origin
Some four-thousand years ago, Taia lived as a princess in the city of Thebes during Egypt's 12th dynasty. She took as her lover, Prince Amentep – a wizard who wielded a mystic relic known as the Ibistick. A rival magician called the Black Pharaoh sought to disrupt Prince Amentep's kingdom, and so he kidnapped Princess Taia, ultimately firing a poisoned arrow into her chest. Prince Amentep used the Ibistick to save Taia's life, but her injuries were severe. He then used his magic to place Taia (as well as himself) into a state of suspended animation in the hopes of giving Taia's body time to heal.
The unconscious prince and princess were separated and lost to the sands of time for centuries. In the mid 20th century, the wizard Shazam decided that it was time to awaken the sorcerer prince and so he cast a spell reviving Amentep's mummy. Taking for himself the name, Ibis the Invincible, the prince began a search for his missing Taia. He found her mummified body in an Egyptian museum and revived her. Taia remained by her lover's side and shared in many adventures in the new modern world.
