Synopsis for "The Secret of the Golden Thunderbolts!"
After a series of strange holes appear around Coast City, Hal Jordan laments over the fact that Carol Ferris loves Green Lantern more than she loves Hal Jordan. Hal is then confronted by a man named Tele-Teg, who asks for the help of Green Lantern, and went to Hal because he had heard of his rivalry for Carol's effections with Green Lantern from the newspapers. Wanting to know what it's about, Hal has a telepathic story beamed into his head:
Tele-Tag is from the negative mater universe on a planet call Qward, where being evil is lawful and being good is against the law. Tele-Tag and some other non-evil Qwardians have learned about a device that can transport them into the postive matter universe. The device however is being held by the Weaponers of Qward. Transporting himself across this device, Tele-Tag has since been followed by a weaponer who has been trying to smite him with their golden thunderbolts. Hal agrees to find Green Lantern and leaves Tele-Teg alone while he changes. When Green Lantern arrives, Tele-Teg is attacked by a Weaponer, during the fight Green Lantern is able to force the evil Qwardian to flee, but Tele-Teg is killed in the fight. Hal then travels through the doorway into Qward, and battles the Weaponers, free's Tele-Teg's friends and brings them into the positive mater universe. After sealing the doorway closed, one of Tele-Teg's friends warn that he too spied on the Weaponers, and learned that their ultimate goal is to collect all the Green Lantern's in the postiive mater universe.

Synopsis for "Riddle of the Frozen Ghost Town"
After saving his fellow co-worker, Eskimo mechanic Thomas "Pieface" Kalmaku from some ruffians, Pie tells him that he is leaving the company to return home to Alaska. Pieface explains that his father and another explorer James Dodds had found a gold mine and had split the map to prospect it at a later date. When his father fell ill and died, he passed Pie his half of the map. Because his family was poor, Pieface went to Coast City to search for Dodds, and got a job at the Ferris Aircraft Company for money. When he tries to show Hal the map, he suddenly realizes that the men he scuffled with had stolen it. As Green Lantern, Hal helps Pieface, by making a copy of his half of the map by pulling the information out of Pie's subconcious mind. Taking Pie up to Alaska, they begin searching for the gold mine, and run into the crooks who stole Pie's original half of the map. After a quick scuffle, where the crooks freeze Green Lantern in a block of ice. Green Lantern free's himself and easily defeats the crooks, G.L. and Pie then find the mine which Pieface knows will be able to support his people. Returning to the states, Pieface reveals to Hal that he knows that he is Green Lantern because he noticed both have the exact same fighting style. Instead of wiping Pieface's mind with his power ring, Hal instead decides to let Pieface remember as he is someone Hal can trust with his secret.
