History
Daisy Darling first met the hard luck hero, Johnny Thunder, in 1940 when Johnny saved her from a bully's torment. The two became close friends, and Daisy accompanied Johnny on many of his adventures. More often than not however, Daisy proved to be a hinderance rather than a help, and Johnny often had to go out of his way to rescue Daisy from various pitfalls. When Johnny, with the aid of his Bhadnesian Thunderbolt, won the Heavyweight boxing title, he proposed to Daisy, who subsequently turned him down.
Soon after, a criminal named Gyp the Jeep kidnapped Daisy and held her for ransom, demanding that her father Herman pay out an exorbitant sum of money (which he acquired betting on Johnny's boxing match). Johnny accidentally summoned the Thunderbolt and rescued Daisy once again.
In July of 1940, Johnny took Daisy to the New York World's Fair. While touring the fairgrounds, a pickpocket robbed Johnny's wallet, inspiring him to summon the Thunderbolt for aid. The Thunderbolt whisked Daisy and Johnny to the top of the Trylon. They eventually got down from the tower and recovered Johnny's wallet. One of the fairground managers gave Daisy and Johnny a free pass to tour the fair for the rest of the day.
Daisy was also involved in one of her father's failed business ventures when he purchased property formerly used by the mob. She was again present on another incident when gangsters arrived at the building where her father worked and attempted to muscle him. On both occasions, Johnny Thunder managed to help the Darlings with their troubles.
Johnny had to rescue Daisy once again when she became the victim of an unscrupulous fortune teller named Mogli the Magnificent.
In September of 1941, Johnny adopted a precocious young girl named Peachy Pet. Daisy and Peachy became fast friends, and shared in several adventures of their own; one of which included stowing away on an airplane piloted by dangerous gangster. As usual, Johnny and his Thunderbolt arrived to get them out of trouble.
Daisy Darling's current whereabouts, or if she is even still alive remains undetermined.
