Synopsis for "A Matter of Choice"

Captain Atom and Firestorm square off for yet another battle with one another. Firestorm traps Atom inside of a molecular bubble from which he cannot escape. Atom is desperate to prevent the Manhunter bomb from exploding, but he also needs Firestorm's help. The two talk with one another at great length and Atom tries to convince him that the Manhunters are not his creators. Firestorm discovers that Captain Atom has been dishonest about his true role in the super-hero community. He is actually a government agent. Atom convinces him that sometimes a person has to act on gut instinct rather than on logic. He convinces Firestorm that the Manhunters are evil and he releases Atom from the containment bubble. Together, they fly off to stop the Manhunter bomb.

Elsewhere, Harry Hadley goes to a WGTV station where he intends on publicly exposing Captain Atom's involvement with the U.S. government. As he steps outside, he encounters General Eiling who promptly shoots him. Eiling seeks to protect his investment.
