History

As early as the 1780s, patriotic hero Uncle Sam has been active in the Philadelphia area, as well as many other commonwealth regions of the American colonies.

In the late 1800s, Philadelphia was but one of many stop-gaps for traveling bounty hunter Jonah Hex.

In the 1940s, Philadelphia was the base of operations of All-Star Squadron members Johnny Quick and Liberty Belle. Liberty Belle derived her power from a fragment of the actual Liberty Bell which resides in the tower of Independence Hall.

Philadelphia is the home town of legacy hero Ray Terrill. As the Ray, he continues to fight crime in the City of Brotherly Love.

Wonder Girl (Cassandra Sandsmark) operates out of Philadelphia when she is not adventuring with the Teen Titans.

Tommy Elliot - the villain known as Hush lived in Philadelphia for many years. Elliot eventually left Philadelphia to set up a base of operations in Gotham City. [1]

Philadelphia was also the base of operations of a short-lived heroine named Virago. However, Virago was struck down early in her career by the villain known as Onomatopoeia. [2]

In recent years, Philadelphia was the site of a major battle between Doctor Light (Arthur Light), Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) and a full assemblage of Teen Titans.

Philadelphia was the scene of a battle between Damage and the villain known as Rebel. Hourman (Rick Tyler) and Liberty Belle aide Damage in bringing Rebel to justice. [3]
