- The first major milestone for the DC Database Project: 1000 articles! Congratulations to all the contributors. You should all be very proud of the recent progress of the project. We are coming along nicely and it won't be long before we join the MDP on the list of largest wikis!

- During our typical weekly image-backup process, at an unknown time during the morning, a major system corruption occured. It froze the entire webserver and brought the operating system to its knees. The server stubbornly refused to boot up. The only option that remained was to wipe-it clean and restore from our latest backups. Fortunately for us, the MDP and DCDP backups had already completed the day before and only 1 days worth of data was lost. The News site and forums were not so lucky. The last successful backup was last week and more data was lost. Although this was not unprepared for, a lesson was certainly learned and will we will be setting up more effective backup features later tonight. With proper foresight, we should not see such a loss ever again. We appreciate your understanding and patience with us during this time.

- A new year and some 'new' software for the DC Database Project! Today we installed the latest version of MediaWiki, version 1.5.5, which included a number of bug fixes and security patches. We hope this makes for an all-around better experience for our visitors and our editors as well. Here is hoping for an even better year in 2006 than we had last year!
