Ray Palmer - He's fun-sized!

Size Alteration is the ability of an individual to increase or decrease the volume and mass of organic and inorganic matter. In many cases, people who possess this power can only use it to affect their own physical person, however this is not an absolute, and there have been many circumstances where individuals have developed the ability to alter the size of other people or objects. Usually, the mass and density of the affected item will increase or decrease in proportion to the volume of the item in question, but this too is not always a constant. The Atom (Ray Palmer) for example, uses his Bio-Belt to reduce his size, but he still maintains the weight and mass of a 180 lb. man. This proves particularly effective in physical combat against an unsuspecting adversary. Other characters such as Colossal Boy of the Pre-Zero Hour Legion of Super-Heroes has shown that his weight and mass increases in proportion to his size. Like any power, this ability is not limited to people, but applies to objects as well. The Silver Age Brainiac once used a Hyper-Ray to reduce the size of the Kryptonian city of Kandor and place it inside of a bottle. Throughout the years, various mad scientists and criminal masterminds have used their own version of the classic "shrinking ray" to affect the size of others. A little known example of mechanized size alteration is the Boom-Tube. The technology used in a Boom-Tube automatically compensates for a traveler's size and mass when teleporting them from one galaxy to another. Beings native to the realm of the New Gods for example are actually many times the size of a normal Earth human, but their volume, mass and density decreases when they travel to Earth, and returns to normal when they return home.[citation needed]
